Gravid og let til tåre?

Pregnant and prone to tears?

Do you find that you cry more than usual?

Don't worry, it's completely normal and you're not alone. Many pregnant women find that they become more sensitive, easily irritable and often have mood swings.

The mood swings are most common in the first and last trimester. They usually come from a combination of the hormonal changes that happen in your body, stress, fatigue, tension, anxiety, and an unfamiliar life as a mother. What can help is exercise, sleep, good diet, time and enjoyment with a close relationship.

I myself had a little moment during the start of my first pregnancy where out of the blue I started crying.

I had gone to a normal midwife consultation, everything was fine and I had no worries at all when I drove away. On the way to my work, tears suddenly started pouring out of me. I was really scared as I had never experienced crying for no reason. I held in, to collect myself, but I just couldn't. The thought of my colleagues seeing me in tears was not pleasant. Oddly enough, it was mostly their questions that I was worried about and especially if they asked if I was doing well. I felt really good and was really happy to be a mother. After I couldn't calm down at all, I called HR at work and while crying I told them what had happened. She laughed lightly and told me that it was completely natural and that I should not worry about it happening and it will probably happen again. After a chat with her I drove to work and tearfully stopped.

I reached out when I no longer knew myself. I also hope you will do the same.
